Alexiou Nikolaos

Nikos Alexiou received his degree in Psychology from the University of Padua (Italy) in 1988, with a specialization in applied/clinical psychology, and in 1994 he received a diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the School of Psychodynamic Psychotherapies (Padua), In 2019 he received his MSc in Health and Social Care Management from the Postgraduate Programme of the Business Administration Department of PADA & the Department of Health Sciences of the European University of Cyprus. From 1988 he practiced as a Psychologist serving as a psychologist in the Greek Army and from 1990 he started practicing as a psychologist in the psychiatric services of Trieste (Italy), participating then in 1991 with the Italian team in the 9001-Metro 2 rehabilitation program of the Central Therapy Centre of Leros (Psychiatric Reform in Greece). Then until 1998 he has worked as a psychologist – psychotherapist in many institutions in Italy and in 1998 he started his collaboration with TEI of Piraeus with a contract as a psychologist – Counselling Manager at the TEI Liaison Office, aiming at the creation and development of the Counselling Services of the Institution. In 2001, he was appointed in the category of Psychologist with an employment relationship at TEI of Piraeus and continues to provide the services of Psychologist at the University of West Attica until today.

Since his return to Greece in 1998, he has been practicing the profession of Psychologist Psychotherapist as a freelancer alongside his work in the public sector until 2012, collaborating with institutions such as the Research University Institute of Mental Health. (Psychosocial Factors and Health), with the Research Centre of the Athens University of Economics and Business as a lecturer in training courses for secondary school teachers in the field of SEP and Counselling, with various K.E.K.’s (Okana, TEI of Piraeus) as a lecturer, etc. Finally, he has recognition of Equivalence and Correspondence of qualifications from the ICCA by the I.C.A.T.S.A. No. Act 25Ψ/38/95-21/03/95, possession of a license to practice the profession of Psychologist No. Prot. 23597/25.10.1995 and is a member of the Italian Chamber of Psychologists (1994), a founding member of the Panhellenic Psychological Association, a member of the Hellenic Society of Counselling and Guidance (EL.E.SY.P.).
