Physicotherapist, MSc

Charalambos Skordis is a physiotherapist specialising in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Clinical Ergospirometry – Cardiovascular Rehabilitation.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Physiotherapy of TEI of Athens (2004). His diploma thesis was about the convergence between motor points, trigger points and acupuncture points. In 2015, he completed the Pedagogical Training Program (E.P.P.P.I.K.), at the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (A.S.P.A.T.E.) of Athens. In 2017, he received from the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace, a Master’s Degree (MSc) in “Vascular Stroke” and one year later in “Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy”, at the Department of Physiotherapy of the International University of Greece (formerly A.T.E.I. of Thessaloniki). In addition, he is currently in the process of completing his Master’s Thesis entitled “The effect of acupuncture in addition to training of combat sports athletes on physiological, neuromuscular and hormonal parameters of the Master’s Program “Clinical Ergospirometry. Exercise, Advanced Technology and Rehabilitation”, of the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since January 2019, he is working on his PhD thesis on “Effectiveness of the Feldenkrais Method in reducing pain and improving functionality in patients with chronic neck pain”, at the Laboratory of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, University of West Attica, Greece.
She is certified by the Centre for Training and Lifelong Learning of the P.D.A. and the Hellenic Physiotherapy Society of Algology (HPSA) in the therapeutic technique of acupuncture and in particular in Traditional and Biomedical acupuncture. He is a qualified physiotherapist in the Feldenkrais method, after four years of professional training (2012-2015) in both Functional Integration and Awareness Through Movement, which is applied to a wide range of people with neuromotor and musculoskeletal disorders. Since March 2019, she holds a Diploma on Ergonomics and OHS, from the K.E.DI.BI.M of A.T.E.I. Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Hellenic Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (EL.IN.Y.A.E.) and the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Ergonomics of the Department of Physiotherapy of the Thessaloniki University of Applied Sciences.
Since 2007, she has worked in primary health care settings such as the Centres for Open Protection of the Elderly (K.A.P.H.), the “Help at Home” programme, in hydrotherapy centres, treating patients with orthopaedic, neurological, rheumatological, cardiovascular and respiratory problems, gaining significant clinical experience. He has served as an Academic Fellow at the Department of Physiotherapy of the P.D.A., teaching the course “Clinical Education in Neurological Physiotherapy” for the academic year 2019-2020. At the same time, he has participated in the teaching of the following courses of the undergraduate curriculum: Physiotherapy Assessment-Clinical Reasoning, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in Injuries and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in Diseases. In the winter semester of the academic year 2019-2020, he was assigned to teach the course “Special Topics in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy” in the framework of the MSc “New Methods in Physiotherapy”, at the Department of Physiotherapy of the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the P.D.A, While in October of the same year he participated in the teaching of the MSc “Rheumatology-Musculoskeletal Health” of the Medical School of the University of Athens, with an oral lecture “The role of physiotherapy in patients with rheumatic / musculoskeletal diseases”.
He is a member of the Swedish Association of Registered Physiotherapists in Greece and Sweden and registered with the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
